Why I don’t listen to music when I’m out painting

Because, when I paint outside a great part of the fun is that I can immerse into my surroundings. I breathe in the air, smell it. I listen to all the sounds and enjoy the silence. I feel the wind, the sun, the insects biting me, the grasses itching and all that. And music in my ears would somehow disturb this holistic feeling of beeing a part of the area of which I paint a small section. I spotted this beetle on the tree when I did my last plein air painting. It was fighting with some ants – at least that’s what it seemed to me:
